Untitled: 5am self portrait session
Experimenting with a favorite stock at the time, Ilford SFX.
One of the few self shoots I mainly shot on 35mm. The few medium format rolls I shot were color and didn’t hold any feeling.
Shot without a light meter…using my best judgement.
Woke up just before sunrise and had to kick Eben out of bed to be able to experiment this early.
I’ve been referring to this shoot as my “5am shoot” since I shot it but am now realizing it was probably more like 6am since the sun doesn’t rise at 5am in April.
Will share more of these eventually….
^I love how there is a random white wonky line by the window that I couldn't trace back to the scanner or the negative. Adds another layer to the lack of control she feels in the moment.
